Instagram is a way of life nowadays. Launched in October 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, it soon became gobbled up by what is now one of the biggest businesses on the planet: Facebook.
Since launching our own Instagram in 2017, we’ve come to realise just how much of an important tool it is for bloggers looking to build their reach and expand through a visual medium. And while cinemas are still closed across the majority of the world, we thought we’d create a list of our favourite movie-related Instagram accounts to follow during these uncertain times.
These accounts have been picked due to the quality of their content, the frequency of posting and just the general community vibe that they give out on Instagram. Shall we dive in?
To make sure this was fair, we reached out to some of our favourites and asked them to complete the same number of questions, which have been detailed below:

My love for cinema can clearly be seen in my reviews/analyses which are written with a personable voice in order to enlighten and entertain the reader. 3. I am from and still based in Manchester, England.
4. For the longest time, I have been torn between The Dark Knight and Blade Runner 2049. Both of these are, in my opinion, incredible films with some of the most beautiful pieces of cinema ever created, be it unbelievable acting or just astonishing visuals.
5. We can’t ever go wrong with a bucket of popcorn, classic cinema feels.
6. My account offers a good variety of movie titles and presents an honest opinion about the film. That’s not to say that what I think is the correct view of the film but I aim to create discussion and I want to see other opinions about films too.
My page is quite different from other accounts when concerning the layout as it pays homage to the original black & white theme that we saw in Hollywood’s early days. I provide essential information about the film as people may be interested but it may not be suitable to watch with children. I provide the release date, age certificate, my overall rating, how long the film lasts and who are the three most prominent cast members. This tends to be what many movie fans relate to most, therefore, it is good to provide the audience with this information in case they haven’t seen the film before. 4. Naturally this is a difficult question but if I had to choose, it would probably be the Japanese movie ‘Love Exposure’ (2008) by director Sion Sono.
5. Nothing fancy, just popcorn will do me just fine! Preferably sweet over salty, or even better- a mix!
6. OTS strives to introduce movie buffs to the best of cinema from all across the globe (you’ll find this on the instagram page) and to give independent filmmakers a platform to showcase their work to an audience that is passionate about what they do (you’ll find this on outsidethespotlight.com and insta stories). The response from indie filmmakers from the start has been amazing. So if you are passionate about all film, whether 9 minutes or 90 minutes, then Outside the Spotlight is where you need to be!
Movie Sizzlers
1. My name is Jatin Wadhawan and I am the founder of Movie Sizzlers. I run Movie Sizzlers website and Instagram with the help of Abhilash Misra who is the co-founder.
2. The name of our instagram account is ‘Movie Sizzlers’, it was created on May 10, 2020.
3. Whenever anyone asks us where we are from on our Instagram account, we have a set answer that “Movies are not bound by borders and nor are we”, but if you still want to know, we are from India.
4. My favourite film is Top Gun because “I just feel the need, the need for speed!”.
5. My favourite cinema snack is Nachos with a super chilled can of Coke Zero.
6. Why should people visit moviesizzlers, the Instagram account would be because we add only the special feature of JRating and JRev with our posts, which just helps people decide in one go, if they want to watch that particular movie or not. We review not just classics, but also recent releases which are available on OTT platforms.
While all this is for our Instagram account, our website is a bit different, there we write a complete review of movies followed by JRating and JRev. Most of the people these days find themselves scrolling through Netflix and Prime endlessly without being able to decide what to watch and we decided to make Movie Sizzlers just to help people make a decision! Movie Sizzlers is just what the binge watching generation needs, its Quick, Easy and Sizzling!
