Halloween is less than 24 hours away. The night of trick or treaters and mischief is one making waves over here in the UK with kids and adults alike enjoying the colourful decorations and bucketloads of sweets.
Of course, the tradition of disembowling a pumpkin and slapping a ‘scary’ face on the front of it is one you’ll either love or loathe. The tough orange vegetable (or should that be fruit) can be an absolute nightmare to carve.
This got me thinking, what would I like to see on my pumpkin this year? With that in mind, I’ve come up with some fabulous movie-themed pumpkin ideas for a truly cinema-tastic Halloween.
Whether you’re a Harry Potter fan or a Jurassic Park nerd (much like myself), these first two pumpkin ideas are sure to get you excited for Halloween. I’ll admit, the T-Rex stencil that’s readily available on Google is probably more for the advanced pumpkin carver.
However, the Golden Snitch pumpkin is a really cool, simple way of creating a highly effective Harry Potter-themed Halloween treat. Take your pick, they’re both pretty cool.
Star Wars fan? No problem. I’ve got you covered here too. With Darth Vader and BB-8 pumpkin stencils, these two will get the trick or treaters really excited. I personally love both of them, but the Darth Vader one is perfect for the older Star Wars lover.
If like me you can’t resist BB-8, this easy pumpkin stencil will get the younger generation of Star Wars fans all of a flutter!
True horror fans rejoice! I haven’t left you out. These next two are for diehard slasher lovers. Whether you’re a Nightmare on Elm Street type of guy or a Halloween-loving gal, these two are sure to creep out anybody who approaches your front door.
Reasonably simple in their design, the hardest part will be tearing your eyes away from your creation long enough to put it by the front door. For me, it’s Michael Myers every time. That face…
Too scary for you? Not to worry, there’s some cool Disney designs out there too. I’ve picked a couple of my favourites that should prove pretty easy for an evening treat with the kids.
First off we’ve got Mike from Monster’s Inc. This cool customer is sure to please Pixar fans everywhere with it’s simple design. Imagine that with a candle inside! Then we’ve got a classic Mary Poppins pumpkin. Using probably the most simple design of the lot, this one is sure to be a winner with adult trick or treaters everywhere.
