Ronnie Pickering!! Who!? The best film parodies

Adam Brannon looks at some film parodies.

For those of us living in the UK over the last couple of weeks, a bizarre road rage incident has taken the country and the internet by storm. Hailing from my hometown of Hull, Ronnie Pickering has become an online star after his unusually aggressive confrontation with a moped driver was recorded on a helmet cam.

Naturally, the internet went into overdrive with thousands of videos and memes being created in a matter of hours. These are now littering the web and I thought it was high time for me to trawl through some of the best film-related parodies out there.

Take a look at the original story and video, right here in the Hull Daily Mail.

Please be aware that some of these videos contain very strong language and are not suitable for children.

The below parody featuring Liam Neeson’s Bryan Mills is actually better than the god-awful Taken 3 that was released earlier this year and has been well-received by YouTube since its creation last week. It’s a funny video that had me in fits of laughter, check it out.

Vinnie Jones’ Juggernaut in X-Men: The Last Stand is one of the most talked-about film roles in the history of the Marvel franchise, and it was only a matter of time before the infamous finale scene featuring the character received the Ronnie Pickering treatment.

True to form, 6 days ago, the web responded with a nicely edited video, take a look below.

Not even Spider-Man could escape from Ronnie Pickering’s grasp with Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire’s rooftop embrace also getting a Ronnie Pickering makeover.

Even classics like The Shining received a parody. This wasn’t just an internet sensation reserved for the modern day cinema-goer. This fits quite well with the subject matter, given the scene in which the video resides.

I’ll end on a parody from what is arguably one of the greatest films of all time. It’s also the video, apart from the incredible original, that I feel is the very best. Utilising the fact that you never see Darth Vader’s mouth move, the YouTube member here has managed to create an absolutely brilliant clip.

So there we have it, something a little different from the usual articles that feature on Movie Metropolis. This is more of a trial than anything to see if you, the readers want a light-hearted feature every now and then. Let me know which of the videos you think is best in the box below – maybe I’ve even missed one.
