Rumours have started circulating that Steven Spielberg is planning to ressurect the Jurassic Park franchise with a long awaited fourth instalment. We’ve been here before, so what makes these rumours different this time around?
The infamous director is apparantely planning with Mark Protosevich who was the screenwriter, most recently, for Marvel’s superhero epic, Thor! Sounds like a good team to us at Movie Metropolis. Plans for a follow up film have been in the work since Jurassic Park 3 was released in 2001 to a mixed critical response and underwhelming box office receipts.
Recent plans have also been put on hold after the death of Jurassic Park author Michael Crichton. Sam Neill, who starred in the first and third instalments as Alan Grant has said recently that Jurassic Park 4 is ‘unlikely’ because of the events happening around its production.
The fourth film is long awaited and fans are remaining optimistic (including myself) so fingers crossed that this isn’t just another unfounded rumour!
